Mediation Overview
The goal of mediation is to provide a process that allows conflicting parties the opportunity to resolve their disputes to their mutual satisfaction on a voluntary basis without going to trial. Mediators are neutrals that assist in facilitating the mediation process in an honest, confidential and open way giving the participants the ability to structure an agreement that they find acceptable.
General Mediation
General Mediation is for two or more parties that have a dispute which may already be in the court system or before a law suit has been filed. Parties may be individuals or businesses and may be represented by counsel or handling the mediation on their own.
Domestic/Family Mediation
Family mediation is for divorcing spouses who need to decide what is best for the spouses and most importantly, their children. The parties meet with the mediator and work through the issues that need to be resolved in order for the parties to conclude the marriage amicably and cost effectively.
Business Mediation/Family Wealth Mediation
Business mediation or family wealth mediation is a helpful and confidential way for businesses to find solutions for succession issues, business growth or development issues. In addition family wealth mediation can be used as successful tool in estate planning and other future planning steps for family owned or closely held businesses.
